I wanted this to make cut outs for pies for the holidays. A cookie cutter will do that, but they are usually too big, and they don't have the indentations to show the veining on the leaf. It worked GREAT. I wanted to get the snowflake one as well, but for some reason, that one is pricey. Get this..you won't be disappointed.

I really enjoy the Ateco plunger cutters. I use them for many different applications. They are great for children to use too. When you cut a cookie you can either push down the plunger to imprint the pattern, or just cut out the cookie; then lift up and take it directly to the cookie sheet...push the plunger, to smoothly remove it from the cutter; directly onto your cookie sheet. No more misshaping the cookies while transferring them!It is great for making pie crust decorations too. I often cut and bake pie crust cut-outs on cookie sheet; then use as a garnishing touch when serving. Instead of crimping pie crust rim, just stamp them out before baking and place on the edge of your pies for a decorative crust, before baking. This maple leaf plunger cutter is GREAT for Fall pies(like Pumpkin)!At this price they make great gifts. I give them out to my pastry baking students....They love them!
