The square cut outs are very useful for baking. I have used them for fondant, candies and cookies. For fondant, they can be used to make decorative squares on a cake. I like to layer the squares on top of each other in different colors depending on the theme. I also use the larger one to make "blankets" for fondant babies that I put on cupcakes. The square base can be decorated with other fondant shapes to look like a decorative blanket, great for baby showers.I like the smaller squares for chocolates. I use them to give a modern twist to truffles. They also work great in shaping uniform marzipan centers.For cookies, the large square is great. It provides a wonderful base for creative decorating. It is so much nicer to work with basic shapes and have the freedom to go anywhere with the design. Traditional cookie cutters are too limiting in that they dictate the theme. I also appreciate the lack of clutter these shapes provide. I own the square, round and flower shaped cut outs. These three shapes can be taken in any direction artistically.I have had no problems with rusting or bending. I like them.

Have been looking for square cutters to help make the cutting of gingerbread house windows more efficient and with cleaner edges--gave this cutout set to my niece as a gift for next year's project, looks like it will be perfect for the job. Arrived quickly and as described.
